PERSONAL SAFETY/SECURITY TEST

Take moment to test yourself:

1. If someone calls you on the phone, identifies him or herself as a 
"bank examiner" and ask for your help in catching a "dishonest employee,"
you should:

Call your branch manager and the local police?  YES/NO

2. Someone knocks at your door, says he's in the neighborhood doing 
home repair for someone else and has some extra material left over. 
He offers you a "real bargain" (to do your roof or driveway, for instance).
You should:

Say no firmly and close the door?  YES/NO

3. I should change the passwords on my email, dialup, and other Internet 
services at least every month?  YES/NO

4. If someone who seems to be a foreigner asks you to withdraw money 
to prove that banks or savings and loans let you take out money when 
you want to, it is probably because he or she is:

A con artist out to get your money?  YES/NO

5. For someone to defraud you by credit card, all that's needed is 
your name, account number, and card expiration date.  YES/NO

6. Exterior Home Doors should always be metal or solid wood?  YES/NO

7. Deadbolt locks are preferred over keyed knobs because they can withstand 
twisting, turning, and prying.  YES/NO

8. When I travel, I always leave lights on a timer at home. YES/NO

9.  I always make sure someone is getting my mail/newspapers when I'm 
gone for an extended period of time. YES/NO

10. Identification on my luggage is tucked away where it can be 
located but not on display?  YES/NO 

11. While driving I always lock my car doors?  YES/NO

12. I have a key I can give to a valet or mechanic without my house 
keys attached?  YES/NO

13. I never carry a large amount of cash that I don’t need, or credit 
cards I don't use?  YES/NO

14. I always discard or take my receipts from the ATM Machine?  YES/NO

15. When I move into a new home, I have all locks re-keyed to assure 
I'm the only one with keys to my residence?  YES/NO

16. I never leave notes on my front door letting people know when I will 
return?  YES/NO

17. The door that gives me access to my home from the garage is always 
locked?  YES/NO

18. My answering machine/voice mail does not say, "We’re not here to take 
your call right now…"?  YES/NO

If you answered YES to every question, congratulations, you are have 
a pretty good handle on your Personal Security!
